Pewdiepie is very highly criticised for things other youtubers do and get away with it. Sometimes he really messes up but he is quick to say he is sorry. Idk, I'm really divided by this, I've been his fan for years.
Pew is not a Youtuber I ever cared for. He seems like he appeals most to like 14 year old boys. I don't get the hype but I also don't think he should apologize for anything. Freedom of speech. If people want to think he is a racist or something and he knows he isn't and is fans know he isn't, then why say sorry?
There are many words that have become taboo. He used one of them that's considered racist.
There also this zombie hoard of online posters who lurch from one "drama" topic to the next. (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Message Boards, Etc. ) Getting offended, then feel like they need to tell the world that they're offended that also perpetuated and escalated by many online media outlets.
However he did use a "racist" word and he's a popular well known figure. He's also like 27-28? You'd think he would be more careful then this at that age.
It's been interesting to see the response.
